A wedding at French Lick Resort opens up a world of possibilities! Set on 3,200 acres in the Indiana countryside, this iconic destination and its collection of wedding venues offer natural beauty, historic charm, and endless entertainment. If you want a wedding weekend surrounded by gorgeous views without traveling far, French Lick provides just the place.
As an Indiana wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to capture celebrations at the West Baden Springs Hotel and the Pete Dye Golf Course, two of French Lick’s top venues. After having such an amazing experience with the staff, I knew I had to spotlight the resort and share what makes these two particular venues so special. Let’s dive in!
Located on the resort’s eastern side, the West Baden Springs Hotel is a National Historic Landmark. It was built in 1902 and features awe-inspiring historic architecture. The Atrium, a lofty domed space, is the hotel’s crown jewel. Its dome was the largest in the world from 1902 to 1913, earning the hotel its nickname as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”!

There are multiple event spaces to choose from at this venue. The Atrium can accommodate up to 2,000 people, while the Lobby—featuring a similar domed ceiling and a mezzanine—seats 150. Meanwhile, the elegant Caddy Sinclair room offers a more private feel and can accommodate up to 75 guests.
There are also several outdoor spaces, including the Veranda and the Formal Gardens. The former is ideal for a cocktail reception or rehearsal dinner, while the latter provides a dreamy setting for outdoor ceremonies.
The hotel boasts a variety of amenities for couples and their wedding guests to enjoy. The Spa at West Baden offers facials and massages in a European-inspired setting. Riding the trolley to the French Lick Casino, visiting the stables, or shopping at one of the on-site mercantiles are just a few other ways to make the most of your stay!

French Lick Resort is renowned for its world-class golf courses, of which the Pete Dye Course has long been considered the finest. One champion player even called it “one of the iconic courses” in America. A former home to the PGA Championship, it’s also a stunning place to tie the knot!
Wedding ceremonies on the golf course feature panoramic views of the idyllic Indiana countryside. Picture vibrant golf green, rolling hills, and tranquil woodlands. Then, for the reception, couples have two options: the Pete Dye Pavilion and The Mansion at Pete Dye.

The Pavilion is a rustic, log cabin-inspired space with a large stone fireplace and golf course views. It seats 200 and is an ideal option for mid-size receptions. For an intimate reception or rehearsal dinner of 38 guests, The Mansion at Pete Dye is a charming spot. Built in 1929, it perches on the top of Mt. Aerie and features a two-tier terrace overlooking a 40-mile vista.
Lodging options for couples and their guests include the West Baden Springs Hotel, the French Lick Springs Hotel, and the resort’s newest addition, the Valley Tower Hotel. You can access all of the resort’s amenities during your stay, including bowling, swimming, historian-led tours, and golf (of course!).

When it comes to Indiana wedding destinations, it doesn’t get dreamier than French Lick Resort. Whether you’re drawn to the history of the West Baden Springs Hotel or the breathtaking views of the Pete Dye Golf Course, you’re bound to discover the beauty and wealth of attractions that have drawn couples to French Lick for over a century. As a photographer, I truly enjoy working there—the spectacular sights make my job easier!
