Holly and Blake are the sweetest couple, and it was an honor to be their wedding photographer. You may remember them from their historic New Harmony, Indiana engagement session! Their summer wedding at Rolling Hills Country Club brought together classic design elements and all of their loved ones. The result was a day to remember!
The couple met in high school but didn’t start dating until after their freshman years at Purdue and the University of Southern Indiana. Their first date was a tried-and-true dinner and a movie. Blake even brought Holly’s family a basket of farm-fresh goods when he picked her up—so, they knew he was a keeper from the start! Both have a competitive streak and enjoy playing board games together. They also love going on weekend getaways, whether a quick ski trip or a cruise.
Holly and Blake knew they wanted to exchange their vows in the Catholic Church to honor their faith. Blake’s brother is the priest of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. So, it was the natural choice for their wedding ceremony venue! The family connection to the church made the proceedings feel even more special, from when Holly walked down the aisle with her father to the couple’s first kiss as husband and wife.
Holly’s minimal House of White gown with a peaked bodice and two-piece skirt was the perfect choice for the venue. The beautiful, long train trailed behind her as she walked down the church aisle. But the best part was that it was removable for dancing the night away afterward at the reception! Meanwhile, Blake completed the picture of a classic wedding couple in a black tuxedo and bowtie.
Timeless details in a blue-and-white color palette decorated the couple’s reception at Rolling Hills Country Club. As guests entered the space, a mirror seating chart with dusty blue wax seals stamped with a botanical illustration showed them to their tables. Classic white florals interspersed with floating candles made beautiful centerpieces for the guest tables. Meanwhile, a lush pair of blue and white floral pillars set a stunning backdrop for the head table. The wedding cake was also timeless, with blue hydrangeas adorning the ribbed buttercream frosting base.
From their engagement session to their wedding day, I’m delighted I could capture this exciting chapter in Holly and Blake’s love story! I cannot wait to see where the future takes them. Are you planning an Indiana wedding? Let’s be friends! I would love to share more about my wedding photography packages and my heart for documenting authentic love stories.
