Zoe and Greg’s paths first crossed when he moved to Indianapolis for law school. They met on a dating app, went on their first date in November of 2021, and have spent almost every day together since! Their wedding at The Sixpence in Whitestown was a classic black-and-white affair, set against the backdrop of the Indiana countryside. I’m so grateful they chose me as their wedding photographer!

The Sixpence has a beautiful bridal suite where Zoe got ready for the day, joined by her mom and bridesmaids. After slipping into a crepe ballgown with a sweetheart bodice, she met her dad outside for a first look. The father-daughter first look never fails to be one of the most touching moments of a wedding day, and I love photographing it.
Of course, the first look between the bride and groom is also a blast to capture. Zoe and Greg’s was no different! After admiring each other, the couple shared a tender moment alone to exchange private vows.
Zoe and Greg’s ceremony took place outside, in the bright and airy patio space. With a wooded backdrop behind the couple and a view of the event barn from their vantage point, it was a beautiful spot to say “I do.” Since we took their bridal portraits after the first look, Zoe and Greg could join their guests for cocktail hour. Then, all headed into The Barn for dinner and dancing. Zoe and Greg’s entrance into the reception as newlyweds was epic, complete with marquee signs held by their bridal party!

Zoe and Greg’s celebration proved, once again, that there’s nothing more timeless than a black-and-white wedding. Their bridal parties each dressed in all-black, while Zoe’s bridesmaids held monochromatic white bouquets that popped against their dark, floor-length gowns.
Captivating Events helped the couple select décor for their reception inside The Barn at The Sixpence. The Barn already features a palette of clean neutrals, so this was a wedding where the event design truly reflected the venue! Crisp white tablecloths set off the black linen napkins on each tablescape, while gold cutlery added a touch of elegance. Centerpieces composed of all-white florals and floating candles completed the classic-meets-modern design. Meanwhile, on the bartop, black-and-white napkins featuring a graphic of the couple’s dog contributed a playful, personalized detail.

It was a delight to photograph Zoe and Greg’s wedding at The Sixpence! From the emotions of the first look to the stunning décor, I know I’ll be reminiscing on this day for a long time.
