Wedding at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts

Real Weddings

Photographing Courtney and Taylor’s wedding at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts was so much fun! This couple is always laughing and joking around, and they brought that same lighthearted energy to their wedding day. From visiting their old college campus with their bridal parties to hitting the floor for an epic dance party, they made the most of every moment of their special day.

Courtney and Taylor met in 2019 at Nick’s English Hut, a beloved sports bar near the Indiana University Bloomington campus. Taylor had graduated a few years prior with a degree in Environmental Science, while Courtney was a senior studying for her Environmental Management degree. Now, both work professionally as environmental managers. In their spare time, they bond over their shared love of science and nature!

Wedding at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts

Courtney and Taylor decided to have their ceremony and reception at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, a stylish gallery venue with industrial-chic details just one mile from their alma mater. The modern and minimal design was a perfect fit for their fall wedding! For décor, the couple kept it simple, exchanging their vows under a black metal arbor adorned with seasonal blooms and greenery from For the Beauty Floral. Courtney’s wedding bouquet coordinated perfectly, filled with large white roses and orange dahlias with textural dried elements. The couple repurposed the arbor behind the head table at their reception, where it added a pop of color to the space. The FAR Center is very spacious, so there was plenty of room for dancing! The couple and all their guests hit the dance floor early in the night and stayed there thanks to the incredible set by The Simple DJ. A bottomless supply of Busch Light, Taylor’s favorite drink, fueled the party!

Wedding Portraits on the Indiana University Bloomington Campus

I photographed the couple’s wedding portraits on the Indiana University Bloomington campus, a place that’s near and dear to both of their hearts. It was so fun to revisit a place where the couple had such fond memories together and with their friends! For Taylor’s photos with his bridal party, we had to stop by Nick’s English Hut. Not only was it their favorite bar in their college days, but it was where Taylor and Courtney first met! Then, we headed onto the campus, where the iconic Rose Well House made the perfect photo backdrop for bridal party portraits and a few shots of Taylor and Courtney.
