Timeless Summer Wedding at French Lick Resort

As an Indiana wedding photographer, I am always so excited to capture a local love story! McKenzie and JD met while attending Indiana University. This past summer, they hosted their wedding at the French Lick Resort. McKenzie is an interior designer, and JD is a software engineer, but together, they love traveling, golfing, eating good food, and cuddling with their pets, Hank and Randy. It was wonderful to see them come together for a gorgeous wedding day.

Getting Ready at the French Lick Springs Hotel

One of the best things about having a wedding at French Lick Resort is the many locations for different events. McKenzie and her bridal party got ready together in a French Lick Springs Hotel suite, a spacious, beautiful area to prepare for the wedding ceremony. The girls had so much fun getting McKenzie into her dress and spending these precious moments together. The bride wore a gorgeous lace appliqué gown from Luxe Redux Bridal, and her bridesmaids wore mix-and-match blue dresses. They looked beautiful walking down the aisle.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Pete Dye Pavilion at French Lick Resort

McKenzie and JD’s wedding day was full of fun details like how the guests arrived at the wedding ceremony outside of the Pete Dye Pavillion on an old-fashioned trolley. They took their seats on the lush grass field and awaited McKenzie’s arrival on her father’s arm. The couple said “I do” beneath a cloth-covered arbor decorated with blush and blue florals that matched the bride’s bouquet.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests retreated into the pavilion for drinks, dinner, speeches, and dancing! Guests found their tables on a lattice panel, and McKenzie and JD honored their departed family members with a beautiful memorial table. The summer light lasted long into the evening, which gave us plenty of time to take couple’s portraits in the French Lick formal gardens. I love how many unique backgrounds French Lick Resort offers! We were able to really wander around the grounds and get some amazing portraits.
