Olivia and Hunter’s garden-inspired backyard wedding was perfect from start to finish. As a couple, they spend most of their days at home laughing, cooking dinner together, playing with the cats, and talking. They are both homebodies since they are each other’s favorite company. They are both willing to put in the work and have hard conversations to make sure their relationship lasts. Hunter also always knows just when to crack a joke and lighten the mood. They have bonded a lot over their love for craft beer and love going to local breweries to try new ones out.
On their wedding day, their ceremony and reception were held in the backyard of Olivia’s childhood home and parents’ house. Their ceremony was short, sweet & romantic. After the ceremony, their reception went on into the night with lots of dancing and Olivia’s dad’s home-brew. They served flights of Olivia’s homebrew, growlers from different local breweries as the centerpieces, and even hops incorporated into the floral arrangements. They also had a dance as a family, which was so much fun.
Olivia wanted a garden-inspired color palette, which was so beautiful! She chose colorful flowers, like large sunflowers, and burgundy, and blush dahlias. Wildflowers added in touches of texture, as did the draping eucalyptus. Olivia’s mother is a florist, so it was so meaningful to have her create all the bouquets and floral arrangements! For the bridal party, she chose velvet gowns in dusty velvet, which were perfect for this fall wedding.
Shooting this garden-inspired backyard wedding, reminded me of how much I love these types of intimate celebrations. Getting to celebrate and shoot a wedding in such a sentimental location is always such an honor. If you are planning a wedding, get in touch! I would love to hear about what you’re planning and how we can work together!
