Blue and White Summer Wedding at The Wilds

Real Weddings

This summer wedding at The Wilds was proof that elegance and simplicity go hand in hand. With a beautiful venue and a sprinkling of florals, you don’t need over-the-top decorations to have an unforgettable wedding day—just laughter and love.

Madi and Josh had both in abundance! The couple met during their freshman year at Purdue University and haven’t gone a single day without talking since (fun fact: they still have the Snapchat streak that started that night). The pair, now North Carolina residents and grad school students, knew they wanted to exchange vows in Indiana, where their love story began. I’m so honored they trusted me to photograph their special day!

The Wilds: An Authentic Indiana Wedding Venue

Situated on a sprawling plot of Indiana farmland near Bloomington and Indianapolis, The Wilds blends privacy and convenience. It’s a luxury wedding venue designed in the popular modern farmhouse style (hello, fellow Joanna Gaines fans!) with indoor and outdoor amenities. But it offers far more than gorgeous aesthetics. The owners, Diane and Nick, are a married couple who provide first-rate customer service, ensuring every couple who books The Wilds has a stress-free experience.

As a Bloomington wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at The Wilds several times. Before Madi and Josh’s big day, I captured Rose and Kelby’s colorful spring wedding and Hannah and Jacob’s festive December nuptials. My favorite thing about the venue is its unobstructed views of Brown County’s signature rolling hills! The countryside is the perfect backdrop for outdoor wedding ceremonies and portraits.

Blue and White Details for a Summer Wedding at The Wilds

Madi and Josh chose a classic color palette for their wedding day, consisting of creamy whites and serene blue hues. Madi carried a bouquet of white roses and ranunculus, with accents of blue delphiniums. This color palette extended into their attire with the bridesmaids wearing floor-length, light blue gowns, while Josh and his groomsmen wore navy blue tuxedos.

The reception décor evoked the same feeling of easy, timeless elegance as the attire. A custom mirror welcome sign greeted guests at the entrance of The Wilds’ grand hall. White pillar candles and bud vases filled with blue delphiniums dotted the tablescapes. Every detail complemented the venue’s airy, whitewashed interior and rustic features, including wood beams and a stone fireplace.

Madi and Josh’s people couldn’t wait to celebrate them. Their wedding day was filled with infectious joy—the kind I love to capture! Are you dreaming of a wedding at The Wilds or one of Bloomington’s other incredible wedding venues? I’d be honored to come on the journey with you. Together, we’ll tell the story of this chapter of a lifelong love. Let’s start today!
