Shelby and Charles met while interning for the same Minneapolis-based company in 2017. Now, they share two fur babies and a converted short bus they love driving to national parks across the country, visiting new breweries along the way! The couple’s love of the outdoors shone through at their wedding at The Barn at Mount Liberty in Brown County. From the picturesque first look overlooking the horse fields to the outdoor ceremony, capturing this wedding day was a delight.
A First Look With a Surprise Gift
A beautiful hill overlooks the grounds at The Barn at Mount Liberty. Shelby and Charles decided to do their first look there! Shelby arrived in a four-wheeler before tapping Charles on the shoulder to show off her bridal look. She was a stunning bride who wore a sleeveless lace-bodice gown and her hair in a romantic braid studded with pearl-and-crystal pins.
However, that wasn’t all Shelby had up her sleeve! She also surprised Charles with a spicy gift: a book of boudoir photos taken by yours truly. I love capturing these sessions for brides. They’re an incredible confidence boost and make a fun gift for your spouse-to-be! Learn more about booking a boudoir session with me.
Wedding at The Barn at Mount Liberty
Brown County is one of the most beautiful places to get married in Indiana, and The Barn at Mount Liberty is a stand-out venue in the area! It’s a working farm on a gorgeous plot of land with rolling hills and grassy fields. In addition to its natural beauty, the venue also boasts numerous facilities to make wedding planning a breeze. As Shelby did, brides can get ready on the property in the cabin across the street, which is included with the venue rental.
Moreover, the venue’s indoor and outdoor facilities can accommodate a wedding in any season. Shelby and Charles opted for an outdoor ceremony beside the horse stables which transitioned into cocktail hour on the patio. Then, they and their guests moved inside the barn for the reception as the sun went down. The warm, rustic space was the perfect setting for dining and dancing with their loved ones.
Photographing a wedding at The Barn at Mount Liberty was a pleasure, and I look forward to returning there! If you’re planning an Indiana wedding—whether in the country like Shelby and Charles or amid the hustle and bustle of Indianapolis—I would love to connect with you.
