Both Indiana natives, Mallory and Simon went to Indiana University, but they didn’t actually meet each other until after college. They both ended up working for a medical device company downtown, and when they met, they bonded over a love of all things food. I was thrilled to be their wedding photographer this past fall! Their October wedding at Vision Lofts Events was so much fun, and I’m happy to finally be able to share the details.
Antique Wedding Details
When it came to their wedding, Mallory and Simon wanted an antique feel. Mallory even got her wedding dress from a popular antique store in Indianapolis called Midland Art & Antiques! She had the dress altered to fit her properly, and the veil was taken from the dress as well.
Mallory’s dress wasn’t the only gorgeous antique at this wedding. During the year before their wedding, the couple collected antique and vintage plates, teacups, and saucers from various places. They scoured Goodwill, thrift stores, and antique stores to find the perfect dishware for their vintage wedding at Vision Lofts Events. After the event, they donated them to a local restaurant that uses vintage dishware.
Fall Wedding at Vision Lofts Events
Mallory and Simon chose to have their ceremony and reception at Vision Lofts Events on Mass Ave in Downtown Indianapolis. After a ceremony full of laughter and smiles, we took a short walk from the venue to the nearby War Memorial Park. Not only did we find some great photo spots at the Park, but the walk over was a blast! We were able to take some photos while walking, and people were cheering for the couple as we went through Downtown. Diners at the outdoor seated restaurants, passersby, and even bar trolleys congratulated the couple, and cars honked as we walked to the park.
After photos, we headed back to the reception to enjoy the party. Once the reception events were over, the dance floor was a constant flow of people having a great time!
I’m so glad I got to spend the day with Mallory and Simon at their Vision Lofts Events wedding! It was a day of fun, laughter, and joy, which is my favorite kind of day. If you’re planning your Indiana wedding (or even beyond!), and you’re in the market for a wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you! Let me know what you’re looking for and how I can help.
