I had so much fun photographing Abi and Drew’s wedding at the industrial-chic Biltwell Event Center in Indianapolis! This sweet couple met in high school on the way to a track meet three hours from their hometown. The girl’s team had picked up food for the trip, and Abi offered the boy’s team some leftover food. That was when she met Drew! They chatted for the entire bus ride, and Drew asked Abi to prom a few weeks later.
The couple followed each other to the University of Cincinnati, where Abi studied engineering and Drew studied economics. Now, she works as a structural engineer, and he works as a data scientist. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and playing with their two dogs!
Wedding at Biltwell Event Center
Biltwell Event Center is an all-inclusive Indianapolis wedding venue with multiple distinct event spaces, furniture rentals, and in-house catering. It’s a former window and door factory that the current owner has thoughtfully renovated to preserve as many historical features as possible. Abi and Drew fell in love with the industrial-chic venue and decided to have their entire wedding day there! In the morning, they got dressed with their wedding parties in the on-site bridal suites. Then, they held their ceremony and reception inside the gorgeous Grand Hall. With vaulted ceilings and huge windows that let in plenty of natural light, the space lives up to its name!
Black and White Custom Wedding Invitations
One of my favorite details from this wedding was the couple’s custom invitations by J.B. Designs. The suite featured black calligraphy on creamy white cardstock to match the minimalist color palette the couple chose for the event. A transparent vellum overlay, black ribbon, and a copper wax seal stamped with a custom “A and D” wedding crest were the finishing touches. It looked beautiful in flatlay photos, especially next to the couple’s black-and-white vow books!
I feel honored that Abi and Drew chose me to document their wedding day. I loved hearing their story and being part of this latest, exciting chapter!
