Winter Wedding at The Wilds

Real Weddings

Hannah and Jacob’s December wedding at The Wilds was laidback and festive! The two of them met at a going-away party for a mutual friend. While they never spoke, Hannah remembered Jake because he started taking shots with their friend’s mom! A few weeks later, the two met again at a party. By then, the sparks had begun to fly, but it wasn’t until after a Halloween party at Hannah’s house that the two finally got together!

The two have been together for five years and enjoy exploring the great outdoors, attending races at the Indianapolis Speedway, and spending time with family. They’re a laidback pair and are always joking around! They also own a rescue beagle, Schmit, who appeared on their custom cocktail napkins! I’m so glad I could capture their wedding at The Wilds.

Outdoor Winter Wedding

The day began in the bridal suite at The Wilds, where the couple got ready with their wedding parties. Jake wore a green velvet suit from Indochino that was perfect for a winter wedding! Meanwhile, Hannah’s gown from The Wedding Studio in Greenwood featured trailing leaf appliqués and a plunging neckline with a flowing cape at the back. When her bridesmaids saw her in it, their faces were priceless!

Then, it was time for a first look outside, followed by a private exchange of handwritten vows. Hannah and Jake couldn’t have looked happier as they exchanged loving glances and doubled over in laughter! Soon it was time for their ceremony underneath the venue’s covered pavilion overlooking Yellowwood Forest. Although it was December, the couple was fortunate that it was warm enough to host their ceremony outside. For their guests’ comfort, they also provided fleece blankets to guard against the chill.

Bridal Portraits at The Wilds

Afterward, I snuck away with Hannah, Jake, and their wedding party for portraits! The grounds at The Wilds are gorgeous, and we had fun exploring them. Jake’s groomsmen wore classic black tuxes with forest green neckties. Meanwhile, Hannah’s bridesmaids wore green velvet gowns that matched Jake’s suit perfectly. They made a good-looking bunch!

Hannah and her bridesmaids also carried bouquets inspired by the winter season. Ivory and blush roses and evergreen branches filled the arrangements, while blue thistle, hypericum berries, and pinecones accented them. They looked so festive, and the berries and thistle added a pretty pop of color!

After we finished taking wedding party portraits, it was time for my favorite portion of the day: Hannah and Jake’s couple’s portraits! The two strolled hand-in-hand past the pond and through the gorgeous golden fields. Of course, they also had to put their signature spin on their portraits, so Hannah brought a leather jacket, Converse, and heart-shaped sunglasses to wear! The accessories added just the right amount of edge to her look. Meanwhile, Jake snuck sips out of a disco ball-shaped cocktail cup! It was fun and funky, just like the love this couple shares.

I had a blast photographing Hannah and Jake’s wedding at The Wilds! I can’t thank them enough for trusting me to capture their special day. Are you ready to book photography services for your Indiana wedding? Let’s connect!
