Shelby and Patrick’s Spring wedding at The Sanctuary on Penn was such a beautiful day to capture! The couple met on a dating app, and after getting to know each other and falling in love, they got in engaged at Disney world and began planning their wedding day! Originally, they were going to have their wedding in January, but they weren’t sure how the pandemic was going to pan out. So, they moved their wedding day to May to ensure that their older family members could join them for their special day.
Wedding at The Sanctuary on Penn
The Sanctuary on Penn has the coolest getting-ready suites for their couples! The guys got ready in The Den, which featured a bar, a pool table, and leather furniture. It really let the groom and his groomsmen enjoy the morning and relax before the big day. The bride and her ladies got ready in their bridal lounge. This suite has huge mirrors and plenty of seating for everyone. They even have a salon room with a salon chair!
Shelby wore a beautiful lace mermaid gown, with lots of intricate details. She added a cathedral lace veil that really tied it all together perfectly. She chose a statement necklace, that was absolutely gorgeous!
Wedding ceremony at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church
The wedding ceremony took place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in downtown Indianapolis. This venue is so unique! It is an old church that was built in 1875, and they kept many of the original details, like the stained-glass windows.
The couple chose a color palette of emerald green, tan, and gold. The groomsmen wore tan suits with emerald ties, and the groom stood out in his navy suit. I love when the groom wears a different suit and really makes a statement! The bridesmaids wore emerald green dresses in various designs with each lady picking her own style.
Before the reception, we walked around downtown Indianapolis for some fun wedding portraits! I loved the contrast between the architecture and greenery. We also made sure to get some at a hotdog stand for some fun shots!
