Last fall, I got to be part of an incredible styled shoot here in Bloomington, Indiana, and it was a dream come true! Inspired by all things bohemian, no detail was overlooked. The color palette was warm, with fall vibes, and pops of oranges, creams, mustard, and turquoise. The stationary really tied it all in together! Handmade by Angela Davidson Stationery & Design, the invitations were hand-painted and featured all of the beautiful colors. I love how the turquoise really pops! Angela also hand wrote each guest’s name for their place setting, on pieces of broken terracotta. It was such a fun spin on a guest seating card!
The shoot took place at The Wilds, a gorgeous wedding venue in Bloomington. It’s one of my favorite venues in Indiana! You can really create any style of wedding at this beautiful venue. Nestled on 125-acre farmland, there is plenty of room for guests to walk around, and for you to get your portraits taken! The venue has a modern luxury farmhouse feel, with white walls, cement floors, and wooden beams.
A Fall Wedding at The Wilds
The ceremony took place on the venue’s covered pavillion, which overlooks the Yellowwood Forest. The ceremony arch had gorgeous floral planters hanging, and a woven seat. It was such a unique backdrop, and so beautiful as the sun set in the evening. After, the reception took place inside, using the venue’s beautiful wooden farm tables. The Wilds also has super fun and modern white metal chairs, which come included with the rental.
Artful Blooms created incredible centerpieces, which were in terracotta pots. Likewise, they had wildflowers and lots of hanging greenery, in shades of peach, orange, and white. My favorite part of the design was the pieces of wood that they placed flowers in! Altogether, it really brought the woods that surround the property inside.
Beautiful Handmade Wedding Dresses
There were three different couples, all with their own style! All three wore gowns by Kimberly Phillips Clothier, a designer in Kentucky. Our first bride wore an a-line gown with a lace bodice and a matte satin skirt. Her flower crown featured sunflowers, hanging flowers, and feathers. It was the perfect bohemian look!
The second bride wore a fitted lace gown, that had a low back and cross straps. I love gowns that have unique backs! She wore an all-white flower crown and carried a large white bouquet. Meanwhile, the last bride wore a gown perfect for fall. It had long sleeves, and was all lace, with a nude underlay. It really brought so much contrast to the lace, and made it pop!
Definitely, the coolest part of the shoot was the vintage VW bus! Artful Blooms created a large floral and greenery garland that was hung over the roof, and was so unique. This shoot really shows you how you can have a wedding with lots of color, unique details, and a touch of bohemian!
