Surprise Proposal at Oliver Winery

Wesley wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Hannah, at Oliver Winery in Bloomington. However, he didn’t know where to begin with planning it. He reached out to me to book proposal photography, and I was also able to provide some ideas for making the moment extra special. I’m so glad I could be there to document this major chapter in Hannah and Wesley’s love story!

A Picture-Perfect Fall Proposal

Wesley decided to surprise Hannah with a romantic set-up by the pond at Oliver Winery. It was picture-perfect, with a picnic blanket, lanterns, fresh flowers, and a sign that read “Hannah, Will You Marry Me?” The colorful fall leaves carpeting the ground added to the beauty! Wesley led Hannah onto the blanket and proposed, with the couple’s adorable dachshund there to witness it. Of course, she said “yes”!

Afterward, friends arrived to congratulate the couple with a custom heart-shaped cake. Hannah and Wesley cuddled up on the pondside blanket and celebrated their engagement with glasses of Oliver Winery red wine. Meanwhile, I was there to capture it all! Booking photography for your proposal isn’t just a great way to document a once-in-a-lifetime moment. It’s also an opportunity to practice feeling comfortable in front of the camera before your engagement session, or to take your engagement photos on the same day!

Oliver Winery: A Romantic Bloomington Destination

When Wesley said he wanted to propose at Oliver Winery, I knew the moment would be stunning! The winery is one of Bloomington’s most picturesque (and delicious!) destinations. The gardens are the perfect spot for a romantic stroll, which you can follow with a visit to the tasting room. The winery also allows you to reserve a picnic package from April through October, which I recommend if you plan to propose there! The package includes assorted gourmet snacks packed into a basket, plates, utensils, and a souvenir wine tumbler for each guest.
