Fall Engagement Session at Brown County State Park

Who says you have to catch peak foliage to have a stunning fall engagement session? Many of the leaves at Brown County State Park had already fallen by the time of MacKenzie and Landon’s November shoot, but that didn’t slow us down. With golden-hour light and MacKenzie’s stunning red dress, we captured portraits that highlighted the season’s remaining color—and showed why these two are meant for each other.

From a Family Introduction to Forever

MacKenzie and Landon met in May of 2024 after MacKenzie’s mom introduced them. Sparks flew immediately, and it didn’t take long for them to realize they were destined for forever. In September of 2025, Landon proposed—and MacKenzie said “yes”!

The couple loves spending time outdoors, so Brown County State Park became the perfect place to capture the essence of their love story. They also proudly call themselves “huge nerds.” Whether they’re learning random facts or going on a YouTube deep dive, it’s the little things that make their connection so special.

I love shooting at Brown County State Park! Whether it’s a wedding or an engagement session, the park offers breathtaking backdrops that showcase Indiana’s natural beauty. Rolling hills, dense forests, and pops of vibrant fall color make it a dream location in every season.

For MacKenzie and Landon’s session, we ventured into the woods. The trees were mostly bare, but colorful leaves carpeted the ground, adding a touch of enchantment to their portraits. I loved how perfectly MacKenzie’s dress complemented the autumn tones! As the sun dipped lower, we moved to the lake’s edge, where the light shimmered across the water. It was one of those quiet, golden fall evenings that fills you with contentment—and, for MacKenzie and Landon, excitement for the future.
