Jessica and Brady’s October wedding at the Woolery Mill in Bloomington reflected their distinctive personalities and love story! The industrial-chic venue made the perfect backdrop for their colorful celebration with royal blue and hot pink details. From the emotional outdoor ceremony to the reception full of fun, personal touches, and an extra-special surprise, it was a day to remember.
Jessica and Brady are an outgoing, passionate couple with lots of love for each other. They met through a mutual friend, and the rest was history! They’re doting cat parents to Duke and June and love to travel and be in nature. I’m so glad I could be their wedding photographer!
A One-of-a-Kind Floral Wedding Dress
One of the stand-out details of this wedding day was the gown Jessica wore! After a visit to a local boutique, The Frock Bridal House, she found the dress of her dreams in the Stillwater gown from indie designer Tara LaTour. The dress’s off-the-shoulder sleeves and plunging sweetheart bodice were the epitome of romance, while the daring blue-and-white floral print showed off Jessica’s bold personality and sense of style. She looked stunning with her hair swept into a simple half updo. Brady’s expression when she appeared at the head of the aisle said it all!
Eclectic Wedding Reception at the Woolery Mill
Following their outdoor ceremony in the courtyard of the Woolery Mill, Jessica and Brady held their reception in the venue’s beautiful, historic event space with vaulted ceilings and industrial-chic décor. The event featured lots of fun, intentional details, as most of my weddings do! There was so much on every table for the guests, including custom stickers with cartoon drawings of the couple and centerpieces from Sola Wood Flowers.
As a fun twist on the traditional bouquet and garter toss, Jessica and Brady did a t-shirt toss instead! They had t-shirts custom-designed with a cartoon illustration of their faces and details about the wedding day, which they tossed over their heads to their guests. Everyone got really into it and had a lot of fun!
Another highlight of the reception was a special surprise Jessica planned for Brady. Several of his friends are in a band together, and she snuck behind his back to ask them to play live music at the reception! It was so sweet to see the expression on Brady’s face when his friends came out with their instruments. He was shocked and so excited! They played for the rest of the night, and Jessica, Brady, and their guests had an epic dance party.
I’m so honored that Jessica and Brady chose me to photograph their wedding at the Woolery Mill. Getting to know them and working at this unique, historic venue for the first time was a pleasure!
