I’m so glad I could capture the love between Madi and Devon for their wedding at Ivory Foundry! This industrial-chic Indianapolis wedding paired an elegant black-and-white color palette with modern fonts and personalized details for a celebration as unique as the bride and groom.
Madi and Devon met while attending Indiana University Bloomington when mutual friends introduced them at a party. The rest was history! Now, they share an adorable golden retriever, Annie, who they included in every moment of their wedding day. It was important to them to feature Annie in photos, and I was more than happy to oblige!
Modern Wedding at Ivory Foundry
Madi and Devon held their outdoor ceremony and indoor reception at Ivory Foundry, a top Indianapolis wedding venue with an open layout and a fresh, industrial-chic feel. Their top priority was to ensure all their guests felt welcomed at their celebration and had a great time (including all the staff at Ivory Foundry who contributed to their special day!). Accordingly, they planned a laid-back party with disco balls, gourmet cocktails, and pizza catered by Simply Served.
Madi is an event planner, so she also wanted a relaxed celebration so she could sit back and enjoy every moment after more than a year of planning. She’s an incredibly talented creative who designed all of the couple’s signage, décor, paper goods, and favors herself! Looking to her venue for inspiration, she created a clean and elegant wedding design using a black-and-white palette and a modern serif font. She even made a custom monogram of her and Devon’s initials! Her designs tied every detail together, from the cocktail napkins to the drink koozie guest favors.
Golden Hour Bridal Portraits at Garfield Park
For the couple’s wedding portraits and bridal party photos, we went to Garfield Park, a nearby urban park and conservatory in Indianapolis. The park’s rolling hills and sun-dappled trees made the perfect backdrop! Moreover, we shot all the photos at golden hour for optimal lighting. Madi’s satin gown caught the sunbeams beautifully as she ran and twirled, and the rosy lighting made the couple’s portraits feel even more romantic. I love looking back on the photos from this special day!
I feel honored that Madi and Devon chose me to photograph their Indianapolis wedding at Ivory Foundry. I’ve shot at this venue once before for a styled shoot, and I hope to return soon!
