Oregon Coast Elopement at Cape Kiwanda

Real Weddings

A few months ago, I got to visit the Oregon Coast for the first time, and shoot a beautiful elopement at Cape Kiwanda! It was such an incredible experience and hosted by Brianna Parks Photography. Brianna worked with Sydney at Wildly in Love, an elopement planner who specializes in destination elopements. The two of them worked to style three days of beautiful photos!

Oregon Coast Elopement at Cape Kiwanda

The first day was at Cape Kiwanda, one of three capes along the Three Capes Scenic Route. This area is well known for its breeze, waves, and whale watching. While we didn’t see any whales, we did have the perfect evening on the beach. The exquisite views from the sand dunes were incredible, and you got to see Haystack Rock and the gorgeous coast.

Estelle and Kelvin’s elopement started out with a picnic on the beach, set up and designed by Wildly in Love. Soft orange rugs are laid out, with pillows and a wooden basket. A charcuterie board was set up with local cheese and bites. White wine was ready on ice, and the couple enjoyed some time before portraits lounging on the beach. Estelle and Kelvin love photography, so they had a film camera on hand to capture some of the moments themselves.

Elopement Planning

When planning an elopement, it is important to still have a planner! There are so many details that need to be laid out, even if it is just the two of you. If you are planning an intimate picnic, there are often local picnic companies that can come in and do the setup and breakdown. So all you have to do is show up and enjoy it!

There is just something so magical about a long chiffon gown on the beach! Estelle wore a chiffon gown that had a draped bodice and subtle v-neck. The bell sleeves were removable and added soft volume. Estelle’s bridal bouquet was warm with lots of texture and golden fall colors. The cream ranunculus paired well with the caramel roses. It was loosely tied together with a honey-colored ribbon

This trip really inspired me and reminded me how much I love traveling out of state to shoot weddings and intimate ceremonies. If you are planning a wedding or elopement and are looking for a travel photographer, I would love to hear from you! Drop me a note and let me know your vision for your upcoming event and where you are thinking about hosting it!

Intimate elopement on the Oregon Coast
  1. […] I am a huge travel fan and recently went on a family trip along the California Coast. My family and I have been making many trips to the west coast of the United States and most recently we got to travel to Northern California in June. We are a hiking family, so we had to make sure we stopped at a National park or two during our trip. Before this trip, I also had the chance to travel to Oregon and shoot some gorgeous elopement photos. […]
